What our customer's say!
"PS5--good, bad and ugly for photojournalist.", Good:
I'm a photojournalist who was avoiding the whole Vista fiasco, so I recently bought a Win 7 64 bit machine at the same time as I upgraded from CS2 to CS5. The huge update went without a hitch. RAW processing is blazing fast with plenty of controls. HDR Pro and photo merge are much improved. The lens correction feature with on-line lens updates is worth its weight in gold for architecture! Content aware is of marginal use for me, but useful in certain instances. There are some useful on-line tutorials, and the ruler tool with "straighten" button is great.
Bad and ugly:
Bridge is so incredibly slow and feeble that it is unusable for batch RAW files. Mini-bridge is too limited. I've got 16 gigs of ram, a video card with 1 gig on board processing, and an I7 860 processor, and I still have to do captions and editing in PhotoMechanic, then switch to CS5 to PP! Weird that such a key feature as bridge is such a kludge. Bridge is totally useless for field work on a less-powerful laptop, even for jpegs.
"Photoshop CS5", My order was well priced, arrived on time and in good condition. I am very pleased.
"Adobe Photoshop CS5", I recently purchased Lightroom 3 and have not yet had a chance to run CS5.
"Must Have", Yes, it's as good as they say. If you shoot raw, Adobe Camera Raw alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade. The new tools border on magic. Sometimes the PS upgrades are really just repackaging, but this is the real deal. A little pricy, but in this case worth it.
"beware sellers at the bottom of the page!", I bought Photoshop CS5 extended upgrade from one of the other sellers at the bottom of the Amazon page. It was advertised for something like $140. When it finally came, weeks later, from China, it had no valid serial number. Amazon won't do anything about it, and neither will Paypal. Adobe says that Amazon isn't a registered distributor. And then the seller disappeared from the page. I learned my lesson. Don't trust it just because it's on Amazon!

"The best yet", I started with PS V 4.5 through Cs4. The new features in CS5 are functions one might have only dreamed of.
You can acomplish things in minutes that might have taken hours in the previous Versions
"PS CS5", I find the PSCS5 upgrade of the panorama feature helpful.
I have PTGui 8.3.10 and find this panorama software to be superior to PSCS5 in creating panoramas.
I have Photomatrix Pro 3.2.8 and find that it is superior to the PSCS5 HDR feature.
There have been improvements to the PSCS5 HDR feature.
I have installed on my computers Photomatrix Pro 3.2.8 HDR software.
I also have Darkroom 2.1.0 and I find HDR Dark Room is superior to the PSCS5 feature and the Photomatrix Pro HDR software.
This said Photoshop continues to be the software that I use for my landscape photography.
"Photoshop CS5", I upgraded from CS3 which I used for several years. I do a lot of photography in RAW and therefor I have a lot of pictures to process. CS5 has some new tools that make my work easier and they work. So far the experience with CS5 has been great. Amazon was great on the shipping also.
"An Outstanding Upgrade", CS-5 loads quickly, and performs fast with an almost "want to see it again" type of speed. My computer was built with a high speed processor; uses Windows 7 (64 bit) and has 6 Gigabytes of memory which greatly influences speed.
"CS5 Review", I haven't worked with it long enough to even learn a fraction of the program. But I tried a couple of new things that CS-3 did not do, and it's awesome.
